Final Fantasy 7 Remake sells more than 700,000 in Japan

According to Famitsu sales tables this week, Final Fantasy 7 Remake sold more than 700,000 units in Japan, exceeding the sales table this week. While the latest Final Fantasy titles are an exclusive Playstation, Resident Evil 3 remake for PS4 complete the first three and is presented on several platforms, showing the domination of Sony in the Japanese console market. Animal Crossing: New Horizons followed Final Fantasy 7 remake in sales with less than half of sales at 292 876. Final Fantasy 7 remake is available exclusively for PS4 now and radically changes the formula of a classic RPG.

While Final Fantasy 7 Remake is at the top of Famitsu sales this week, it is notable that Mario Kart 8 deluxe remains in the top 5 sales, with 107,535 sold this week. Animal Crossing: New Horizons officially exceeded 3.3 million sales in Japan, which shows how much franchise continues to be popular after being broken New Leaf record as a fastest animal game to exceed 2 million. It is impressive to see that each of the last remakes of Resident Evil sells so well and anticipates the announcement of the next remake. We are surprised to see that two of the three games among the first three are remakes, which proves the sustainable potential of the update of old games with modern graphics and sound quality.
